"Breath of a Kilim" draws inspiration from the oral traditions of the Qashqai people, a collection of Iranian clans celebrated for their exquisite pile carpets and other woven wool crafts. This myth highlights the deep reverence the Qashqai community holds for women, portraying them as powerful forces of nature capable of creating beauty from nothing. In the tale, women are given white wool to weave a kilim, and once it is finished, the patterns come to life, calling upon the women to add color. Lacking dyed wool, these resourceful weavers tap into their essence, using elements of their bodies to breathe life into the designs and infuse them with vibrancy.
