Suheil Baddor Syrian , b. 1957

Suheil Baddor (b. 1957, Syria) is a distinguished artist and poet based in the United Arab Emirates. A graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Damascus, he is a member of the Arab Fine Artists Union and the West Asian Professional Artists Association. He also holds an honorary membership with the International Federation of Asian Art in Nebraska, USA.

Suheil has exhibited extensively, holding solo exhibitions in Syria, the UAE, Jordan, Egypt, Kuwait, Turkey, Belgium, and the United States. His work has also been showcased in numerous joint exhibitions across Syria, the UAE, the US, Turkey, France, Spain, Greece, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Bahrain, India, and Bulgaria.

 

A seasoned participant in over 45 international symposiums, Suheil has conducted numerous workshops worldwide, including at Creighton University in Nebraska. He has been specially hosted by institutions such as Beams Art Center and Gammell Nelson Harding Center in the US. Notably, he was the first Arab artist to receive a special hosting from the International Center for Asian Art in America.

 

Beyond the visual arts, Suheil is also a poet, having published five books of poetry. His creative career extends to the stage, where he worked as a theater actor in Syria, and to journalism, contributing to the Gulf and Arab press. His expertise has been recognized in several international art competitions, where he has served as a jury member in the UAE, Egypt, India, Algeria, Morocco, Turkey, and Greece.

 

Suheil’s work has earned him numerous Arab and international awards, and his pieces are part of prestigious collections, including the Museum of Modern Art (Syria), the Baghdad Museum (Iraq), the Sayed Darwish Museum (Egypt), the Sharjah Museum of Art (UAE), the Prince Taz Palace Museum (Egypt), Setif Province (Algeria), and the Goa Museum of Modern Art (India).
