Mai Al Remeithi Emirati

Mai Al Remeithi is a visual artist born in 2000 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Her studio practice is inspired by the ever-changing architecture of the UAE. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Art from Zayed University, Abu Dhabi, UAE, in December 2023.

Her work is influenced by architectural elements such as arches, windows, structure, and the interplay of positive and negative space. She defines a place through either subjective or objective investigation, with a strong connection to materials like layered paper, clay, thread, and plaster. She is interested in producing minimalist, monochromatic work, where the meditative layering and process hold a deep connection to the tactile quality of the materials
