Nanteza is deeply passionate about wellness and the positive impact of plants on one's health and wellbeing.
Florence Nanteza, a resident of Masaka, Uganda, was born in 1995 and is the youngest of her siblings. At a young age, she found comfort in drawing as a means of expressing herself, inspired by her father's passion for art. After completing high school, she decided to fully pursue art and discovered her talent in banana fiber collages, which quickly gained attention from local art enthusiasts.
In 2020, Nanteza became a member of "Ndege Ya Akili", an incubator program in Masaka that supports young Ugandan artists, providing her with a platform to further explore her artistic abilities with freedom and confidence.
Apart from her love for art, Nanteza is dedicated to wellness and the positive impact of plants on health and wellbeing. She gained experience and knowledge in herbal medicine by working with a local traditional medicine clinic in Masaka, which is reflected in her artwork. Her pieces are a blend of childhood memories and dreams with a focus on the healing properties of plants and herbs.
