The diptych Ukrainians is dedicated to the people of Ukraine, who are sacrificing their lives and fighting
for the freedom of the country. In the first part of the diptych, we see Ukrainian women and the poppy flower. Poppies are a common
sight in Ukrainian villages. They are grown in profusion near every house, and small poppies grow
wild in the fields in summer. No garden in Ukraine is complete without a row of bright red cultivated
poppies. It is a flower that has influenced folk music, mythology and Ukrainian culture. The poppy
is a symbol of remembrance that pays tribute to all heroes who sacrificed their lives for a better future.
The second part of this diptych is dedicated to Ukrainian mothers, their strength and resilience.
